Our cherished colleague and head of IDAL, Dr. Marcelino Martínez-Sober, successfully passed his examination to get a Full Professorship on October 30th, 2019. The examination consisted of two parts: in the first one, Marcelino presented his CV and his teaching project for the subject “Digital Signal Processing”, that was considered as outstanding by the Evaluation Panel, thus enabling him to take part in the second part, where he presented his research project. The project dealt with anomaly detection in data sets, a hot research topic at present. All IDAL members congratulate Marcelino for his great achievement.
IDAL member Dr. Emilio Soria-Olivas will participate next 13th of November on a Symposium on Moral Neuroeducation in AI times organised by the Philosophy Department of the University of Valencia. Dr. Emilio Soria-Olivas will discuss about “Data and Artificial Intelligence: 2.0 Society”.

Prof. José D. Martín has been visiting the recently created QuArtist Lab (Quantum Artificial Intelligence for Science and Technology), at Shanghai University, led by Prof. Enrique Solano (http://www.quartist.shu.edu.cn/). On top of teaching a crash course on classical Machine Learning (ML) to set the foundations of Quantum ML approches, Prof. Martín has discussed many possible research collaborations with Prof. Solano and other QuArtist members, that will hopefully lead to creative and innovative research results in the short and mid term. Looking forward to going on enjoying and reinforcing this collaboration with QuArtist!
